"Yellow and Grey" recalls Mistrust's recent train journey to Port Sunlight (the historic workers' village in Wirral, UK), on the ageing yellow and grey trains that pass through the village. These trains are being replaced by shiny new modern trains which are also yellow and grey! Hence the line "Yellow and Grey is here to stay!" The song's overall themes are nostalgia and new beginnings!

"Yellow and Grey" includes a line from the poem "From a Railway Carriage" by Robert Louis Stevenson (can you spot it?), and there's also a nod to the classic Kraftwerk song "Trans Europe Express" with Mistrust recording a German language version of Yellow and Grey ("gelb und grau") which is released alongside the original song.

Lyrics. Leave the city right on time Yellow green and red lights shine *Painted stations whistle by People watch but don't know why

Bridges houses silhouettes Long forgotten no regrets Sunlight starts to reappear Yellow and grey is why I'm here

Yellow and Grey is here to stay (Chorus)

Fantasize about transmission Electric lines and information Memories won't fade away Yellow and grey is here to stay

Yellow and Grey is here to stay (Chorus)
