Description: Granny Rocker Live by Granny Rocker is a gloriously absurd snapshot of underground mock-rock performance art at its most unhinged. Recorded live in 1992 at Holland Elk Lodge #1315, the release captures a single explosive track, “I’m Granny Rocker (Live ’92),” clocking in at just over a minute of chaotic brilliance. Originally appearing on the VHS compilation Dead Dog Records Various Artists: Live! via Dead Dog Records, the recording preserves the raw, lo-fi energy of a lodge hall performance that feels equal parts stand-up routine, punk show, and fever dream.

The performance took place as an opening act for the headliner Hideous Piglet Wild-a-Beast on their Levels of Reality tour, placing Granny Rocker squarely in the realm of cult mock-rock spectacle. The act itself is the joke and the genius: a man dressed as a grey-wigged granny, air guitar shredding on a walking cane, while vocalizing the guitar riffs between sung lines. The result is deliberately ridiculous yet oddly committed, blending parody and performance into a tight burst of theatrical nonsense that embodies the anything-goes spirit of early-’90s DIY live recordings.
