Label Cantroll ( earlier Cuntroll) is a music label dedicated to downtempo, trip-hop, electronic, beats and abstract hip-hop releases since 2008. The EXTRA stream features releases with no genre restrictions.
The label produces the most interesting submitted material from both young and mature musicians and bands. The roster includes more than 50 bands and artists from all continents of the world. For example Nordgroove, Thiam, Asa Taura, Paradeigma, kbkbts, Decision Space, Plushka, Mr Peel, Zaranka, Ogi Feel the Beat, Surmachina and Samsara Inc.
The label brings people together, helps its residents to run advertising campaigns and increase the number of publications and listeners. In addition, various projects are organised for the authors. For example, organising remix albums, official collaborations with platforms (Icons8, Jamendo, VK Clips, Groover), annual international compilations (featuring artists from over 30 countries) such as Downtown, Take a Trip and the Best Of series.
Resident tracks are regularly played on famous radio stations, by bloggers on YouTube, as well as in commercials for brands: Alpine (Renault), smartphone manufacturer Doogee, football club Nice, TV channels Discovery and CGTN, Azimut airline, Dorsett City London hotel, GQ Germany, Barcelona University, in the programme Auto TV Peru, as well as in TV series (KION, Friday channel). Top new releases are featured in editorial playlists on VK, Yandex Music, YouTube Music and other platforms.
Various thematic and entertaining rubrics and podcasts are published for listeners. A 24-hour web-radio is available.
In 2010s, the label founder Mark Shishlev organised his own events in different cities. Among the projects we can mention international festivals ‘Metagalaxy’, which united more than 30 bands (including - Iuno, Micatone, 9Lazy9, Hidden Orchestra, Arts The Beatdoctor, The Herbaliser, Sofa Surfers, Bugge Wesseltoft, Doctor Flake, Glen Porter, Elsiane, Flunk).
