Cloud Blood was formed in January 2023 by the multi-instrumentalist/vocalist Josh Brill. Recorded in the living room of his apartment, he released the debut single Task Manager in April of that year. Wielding a 9-string guitar, pitch-shifted bass, and out-there synth, he created an absurdist soundscape equal parts heavy, catchy, and weird, complete with a satirical anti-capitalist message. In July 2024, he released Terminally Online (Special Edition), a scathing satire of social media and internet culture as a whole, which includes a remaster of Task Manager. One month later, he released a collab with Horrorcore Trap producer Blaskxwitz, a Chiptune Industrial banger called God Of Insanity. He released White Phosphorus that November, an anti-Zionist song condemning the genocide in Gaza.
