Pink-slipped

Pink-slipped was a collection of songs that came together during a tumultuous time of labor strife in the US. The UAW was striking, others being laid off, and of course, the Bandcamp dismissal of half their loyal workers. I choose a sketch i found that my father made of a somewhat weathered but proud man. The pink backdrop revealing his vulnerability. I could almost see him in the room as they told him his job was over. No longer as strong and optimistic as the new workers but always loyal to a fault. A life given to a cause that had always planned to erase him.
