In 2026, I was invited to perform at Midsummer Music Festival in Smithers British Columbia. As part of the booking, the requested that I put together something more ethereal than what I had done the year prior. With that in mind, I decided to create a song utilizing only bird calls. The base of each sample - with the exception of the rain and thunder and the beginning and end of the piece - is a different bird call with different bpm and effects added and subtracted throughout.
This ambient piece was completely improvised on July 4th, 2026 in Smithers British Columbia. Birds and rain in the beginning and end were added after the fact to reflect what was happening before, during and after the performance in real life.
