Humalien began as a one-man project entirely recorded in Fruity Loops 4 with virtual instruments, each note placed by hand on a 4 by 4 grid by veteran death-metaller and retrogamer Cristian Truţă.
The project began in 2007 as a T-600 rubber skin terminator that couldn't pass as human and till 2026 it evolved into a T-800 that looks human, but something's just off about it (the rigidity of the established 4 by 4 grid).
The sound stands in the uncanny valley of neither human, nor alien/machine, a standalone operating system that's too electronic for Metal fans and too Metal for people into Electronic music.
Everything composed and recorded note by note on a 4 by 4 grid in Fruity Loops 4 using native FL Slayer VSTi for guitars, bass, piano and keyboards synthesizers, occasional chiptunes and early Mortician (US-based Death-Grind band) drum samples based on an Alesis SR-16 drum machine, stems and full tracks mastered in AAMS 3 / cleaned in Goldwave 5 and mixing done in Audacity 2. No vocals were ever recorded.
