about I watched some youtubers bashing people for using loops and samples in their production so I decided to make this EP using loops and samples that I legally own. Just because. Also, I was inspired by the way corporations remove the fun and joy from the products. Just look at the ugly, flat, uncustomizable interfaces of the modern OS-es and programs that use too much computing power and resources. In Windows 95/98 we were able to change everything on the UI with less than 32mb of ram and far less powerful processors, now we can't even put task bar on top of the screen or make it not "always on top". They removed our fun and control over our aesthetics. Now we must only consume and obey. This is not nostalgia. This is the desire to have freedom of expression. This is reaction to oppression. As an autistic person, I need to change the environment around me and the tools that I'm using (software, operating systems, etc.) to feel calm and to live my life without much stress. I'm not harming anyone with this. It's not surprising that the vaporwave (the most autistic music genre ever) embraced the 80s/90s aesthetics. It was a time when we were able to express ourselves freely without much hassle.
